TIME TRAVELLERS

There are literally hundreds of re-enactment societies in the UK, covering
every conceivable period of history. Some s have memberships running into
the thousands, some as few as ten. But all share a yearning to escape to
simpler - or bloodier! - times and all dress up to live out their historical fantasies
both in private but also at public events.

This documentary series follows several groups in public and in private, asking
the question 'why?'. Exploring their motivations, their identification with the period
or character, the contrasts - or parallels - with their 'ordinary' lives.
